Unsampled pegmatites might be LCT-type

  • Mapped pegmatic granite measuring ~2.5km x2.0km, hosted along a mafic volcanic-sedimentary contact
  • Along trend of known pegmatites with documented LC indicator minerals (beryl + tourmaline+ garnet)
  • Historical drilling intersected significant widths of pegmatites (never sampled) with complex textures described
  • No modern exploration; last explored >40 years ago
  • Located in the east-central English River subprovince
    • Area featured in the Ontario Geological Survey’s Recommendations for Exploration (Kurucz, S.V., 2023) for its “high potential to host undiscovered rare-element-bearing pegmatites”
